Campus Development and Partnerships

Explore development and partnership opportunities that advance NC State’s mission and long-term campus goals

University Real Estate and Development helps advance major development opportunities that support NC State’s mission, strengthen the Centennial Campus community, and create space options to accommodate research, learning, innovation and collaboration needs of the university and support economic development for the state of North Carolina.

Our work includes long-term development planning, structuring and administration of public-private partnerships, and direct implementation of projects that improve the campus environment. We help evaluate development concepts, coordinate with university and external partners, and guide appropriate projects through the pertinent review and approval processes.

Development at NC State

NC State’s real estate and development work supports the university’s land-grant mission by aligning physical space, strategic partnerships and long-term campus needs.

Development opportunities are evaluated based on university priorities, campus planning goals, financial structure, mission alignment and potential value to NC State students, faculty, staff and partners.

Centennial Campus is NC State’s flagship research and partnership campus, housing a vibrant, robust and varied innovation ecosystem. The campus brings together academic, research, industry and community-facing spaces in an environment designed to support collaboration.

University Real Estate and Development supports development opportunities on Centennial Campus that strengthen the dynamic ecosystem and align with NC State’s mission.

Public-Private Partnerships

Many major development projects involve public-private partnerships. These partnerships allow NC State to leverage work with external entities on projects that support campus growth, research activity, student engagement, partner collaboration or community-facing amenities.

External developers, companies, institutional partners or NC State stakeholders with a public-private partnership development concept tied to NC State property or pursuing private development on Centennial Campus should contact University Real Estate and Development.

What kinds of projects are a fit?

Projects should be aligned with NC State’s Physical Master Plan and support NC State’s mission, campus priorities and long-term development goals. On Centennial Campus, projects should support or connect to the campus’s research, innovation and partnership ecosystem.
