Lake Raleigh

Lake Raleigh, nestled in the heart of Centennial, invites kayakers, bird watchers and joggers to come discover a refuge from urban living. With a greenway, small picnic area, two fishing piers and ample parking, Lake Raleigh is the perfect escape for an evening or weekend picnic.

  • Lake Raleigh is accessible by a boat ramp.
  • No motorized watercraft are permitted on Lake Raleigh.
  • The NC State Farmer’s Market is only 1.6 miles by greenway from Lake Raleigh.

Centennial Welcomes REI to Lake Raleigh!

In partnership with NC State, beginning in the Spring 2018, Central Carolina’s REI will be renting kayaks, canoes and bicycles at Lake Raleigh on weekends. Reservations are not required.

REI also will be hosting outdoor recreation courses at Lake Raleigh. The courses include such topics as Introduction to Kayaking and Backcountry Skills.

All REI programming is open to the public.

Lake Raleigh Woods

Lake Raleigh Woods on Centennial features over three miles of natural walking and hiking trails along the south side of Lake Raleigh.

  • Lake Raleigh Woods is open to the public.
  • Parking for Lake Raleigh is free all weekend and after 5:00 pm on weekdays.
  • Access Lake Raleigh Woods from the parking lots at Park Alumni Center and Centennial Campus Middle School (at the rear of the parking lot).
  • No motorized vehicles are permitted in Lake Raleigh Woods.
  • All pets must be kept on leash.

Capital Area Greenway

Centennial features over two miles of the the Walnut Creek Trail of the City of Raleigh’s Capital Area Greenway System.

  • All greenways on Centennial are open to the public.
  • Parking for the Walnut Creek Trail on Centennial is free all weekend and after 5:00 pm on weekdays.
  • No motorized vehicles are permitted on the greenway.
  • The NC State Farmer’s Market is only 1.6 miles by greenway from Lake Raleigh.

Disc Golf Course

Don’t let this short course fool you, Centennial’s 9-hole disc golf course features tight fairways and a challenge to even the most experienced disc golfer!

  • Centennial’s disc golf course is free and open to the public.
  • Parking for the disc golf course is free all weekend and after 5:00 pm on weekdays.
  • No pets on the disc golf course.
